Law office in Poland

In Poland, the most popular form of obtaining legal assistance is a visit to a lawyer. It is worth remembering that an attorney is not the only legal profession concentrating its activity on providing legal assistance. There is also a profession of legal counsel. Over the years, the position of legal advisers has been changing, but they have focused very closely on business services. Today, the rights of these two professions regarding legal aid and representing clients before courts are very similar, but in the case of legal advisers, it is likely that a given representative of this profession will focus on economic matters. As a profession, the lawyer was focused on various matters throughout his entire existence. Therefore, in Poland, for example, assistance in criminal matters is clearly associated with the profession of a lawyer (although legal advisers can also defend and accuse in such cases).

Lawyer’s office as an organizational form

Attorneys act as part of the lawyer’s office. The organization of such offices can be very different. In the case of “smaller litigation” you can easily go to a solicitor’s office. This solution is characterized by maximum proximity with the client. In this case, the lawyer most often deals with very different matters, which is why his experience can be extensive. Depending on where the city is located, the prices of the services offered can also be very different. Of course, there are also multi-person chancelleries. Most often, however, working in such a law firm also involves an individual approach to the case. Lawyers support each other, but one lawyer is usually responsible for one case.

In Poland, you can also see large law firms, by laymen called law firms. Such offices have multi-person teams, organizationally divided into individual departments (dealing either with a given category of cases or a given branch of law). The prices of services in such offices are clearly higher, because they are aimed at servicing large entities. Choosing such a law firm is optimal if we need very specialized knowledge. Such offices often use the help of the so-called of counsel, or academic representatives of the doctrine of a given branch of law.

Choosing a good office

When choosing a lawyer’s office in Poland, it is first necessary to check whether the law firm has experience in handling foreign persons. Of course, the lack of such cases does not mean that there is no news in a given area (lawyer training is very detailed, that’s why he knows the law very well), however, customers usually feel safer knowing that a lawyer has previously been in a certain category of cases. It is worth following a reputation that is not expressed only in positive opinions on the Internet, but also recommending the office to its previous clients. However, it must be remembered that regardless of the law firm, every lawyer had to undergo years of hard training covering both theoretical knowledge and practical use of it.
